The Blue Angel Lounge sign to Anton Newcombe's (The Brian Jonestown Massacre) label 'A' Recordings (Dirty Beaches, Dead Skeletons, The KVB) and announce new LP and tour dates.

2014 sees the return of the Blue Angel Lounge with their 3rd studio album 'A Sea of Trees', released on May 2nd. Since  the release of their previous album 'Narcotica', the band have been garnering international acclaim, touring the US, UK and France with the Dandy Warhols and The Brian Jonestown Massacre, and also making appearances at the Austin Psych Fest and Roskilde.

'A Sea of Trees' sees the bands songwriting blossom into its own, incorporationg the experimentation of their most recent EP and Single releases ('Ewig' 2012, 'Walls' 2013). From the very first moment of 'A Sea Of Trees', the epic opening track 'Winter' wastes no time sonically detailing where the band has been. The bands weapons of choice, guitar coupled with harmonium and singer Nils Ottensmeyer's powerful Nico'esque vocals culminate in genre-bending territory belonging to them alone.

The album marks the bands first worldwide release via Anton Newcombe's (The Brian Jonestown Massacre) 'A' Recording label. Mr. Newcombe joined The Blue Angel Lounge on stage in support of their last record, and most recently invited them to support them on The Brian Jonestown Massacre's 2012 American tour to rave reviews.

The Blue Angel Lounge formed in 2006, after meeting at school in their German village Hohenlimburg near the Rhine River. Led by singer Nils 'O.' Ottensmexer and Dennis Melster, the band took their name from the club in New York City that in the 1960's offered Nico her first live performances in America. Nico and The Velvet Underground would remain an underlying influence on the band.

'A Sea Of Trees' was recorded between 2013 and 2014 at Funkhaus-studio and Studio H1-3 Nalepastrasse, Berlin. Mixed at Arecordings Studio, Berlin. Produced, recorded and mixed by Fabien Leseure and The Blue Angel Lounge.

Singapore Sling is a darkly psychedelic band from Reykjavik, Iceland. They are inexplicable and elusive but remind one of the drugged out soul power bands like Jesus and Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine. Their debut album, "The Curse Of Singapore Sling", came out in Summer 2003. It has gained fans from all over the globe. Their leader is singer-songwriter-guitarist Henrik Björnsson. In addition to Björnsson, the Sling include Håkan Aøalsteinsson on guitar, Einar Kristjansson on guitar, Bibi on bass, Björn Viktorsson on drums and Siggi Shaker on maracas and tambourine.
They did their first tour of America after signing with the Indie label Stinky in late 2002. Then in March 2003, they rocked the house with a show at SXSW and also several packed New York shows (including a sold out show opening for Brian Jonestown Massacre) and several shows on the west coast opening for the Raveonettes. A second Album "Life is Killing My Rock `N´Roll" was released in Sept. 2004.
Since their first release they have played four tours in the United States, several support shows for Brian Jonestown Massacre in the UK and of course many shows in Iceland (Airwaves Festival 2003, 2006 and 2007) and the rest of Scandinavia. Finally in 2005 they made it over to central Europe where they played the Island Festival 2005 in Berlin. This is where Singapore Sling and 8MM met for the very first time.
In the meantime a 3rd record "Taste The Blood Of Singapore Sling" has been released in Iceland. Until now, Singapore has not been exposed to the rest of Europe at all due to their engagement in the USA and their Icelandic isolating tendencies.
8MM Musik picked ten pearls from those 3 records to release an anthology of Singapore Sling in May 2007 to prepare Europe for there live invasion. Singapore Sling are currently working on a new album to be released early 2008, preceded by a new single in November 2007.
Singapore Sling have just returned from a successful first tour of Europe, surprising and delighting crowds in Berlin, Hamburg, Paris, Milan, Vienna, Prague, and Munich. They plan to return in September and November for additional live dates.

“If Iceland has among its many (musical) voices a rock voice, its the one of Singapore Sling.. a sound dear to My Bloody Valentine, Sonic Youth and all those bands that approach music with bad intentions and a sideways grin.“

–Carlo Zambotti, SLURP MAGAZINE, Milan, May 2007

“A refreshing, blurring line between genius and insanity, Singapore Sling walk it with nary a doubt, their rock 'n' roll swagger unmistakable as they command attention - and get it. I'll give this an A-.”
- Alex Steininger, IN MUSIC WE TRUST, Issue #72 September, 2006

“The perfect soundtrack to a late-night downtown cruise.”
Kevin Hainey, EYE WEEKLY 14.10.04

“..that Icelandic sextet Singapore Sling hails from such polar terrain might explain the outrageously sinister soundscapes... Like My Bloody Valentine filtered through Calla, the songs swirl in an incessant buzz of feedback”
-Shelby Hast, MESH MAGAZINE, December, 2004

“Through and through, this album is moving, engaging, consuming and amazing rock'n'roll.”
-Jenny Tatone, NEUMU, 2003

“Top 20 Records of 2003.. These dudes are loud, like feedback, and sing about drugs, death, or both..”

“This music is best enjoyed in the bleak-eyed splendor of an amphetamine buffet...or perhaps a knife fight”
-Cameron Gordon, LEGENDS MAGAZINE, June 2005

The Silver Album

"The Silver Album is a breath of fresh air. It is shoegaze in its best form, filled with buzzing guitar sounds complemented by soft, echoing vocals unintelligibly distant in the background. With this release, The December Sound indubitably distance themselves from the generic minimalist post-rock sounds revered by today's indie culture. The music effectively pulls the same emotional strings, but instead leaves the listener with pure substance rather than ambiguous sentiments." (synapsistapped)

"The flower generation's genre of choice has become motorcycle sexy with The December Sound's 'KILL ME'."

"The nastiest, noisiest noise we've heard for a while. Like being stuck in a wind tunnel with Kevin Shields, William Reid and Ron Asheton. Feel the static..."

"...intoxicating blend of noise and melody. ...the best unsigned band on the planet right now!"

" The December Sound come armed with a strong supply of material...a major force to reckon with."

"...Buzzed-out guitars that blur together in absolute sonic bliss, forming the backbone to support ethereal, reverb-soaked vocals and plenty of distortion....they're mighty fucking awesome."

"The December Sound give the current shoegaze scene a much needed kick in the balls on their stunning debut full-length."

"...from cool stealth to chiseled soundscapes to drowsy space-age good!"

"...the music is a living organism that is very much a product of its day. "

" grand style with the punchy swirl of "Kill Me", the insistent rhythms softened by some drifting vocals as The December sound strut their stuff quite magnificently."

'Kill Me' = Manic technological beats and jagged guitars, on this spaced out epic that takes off into outer space with a melancholic vocal and a huge soundscape... far out moments. "

"...unique combination of loud, pounding rhythms, rippling, effects-laden guitar and sweet vocals..."

" The December Sound has the songs, the swagger and the soul that make you reminisce on the glory days... but also gets you excited for a new invasion of sound and style."
